Jeremy's Chilean wine adventure

His wine will have travelled 7,250 miles and so will he!  We've managed to secure a world-class Chilean wine producer to host our late summer wine evening.  So put Thursday September 8th in your diary!

Rafael Urrejola is a young and talented winemaker from the Undurraga region with extensive knowledge on how to get the best of the wines from the modern 'terroirs' of this exciting wine producing country.  Despite its long, thin 'bootlace' demeanour, Chile has a well established viticultural history and is fast becoming a treasure trove of excellent and well-matched 'terroirs' with an increasing number of premium grape varieties coming to the fore. Its closeness to the sea makes all the difference and with its isolated pockets of cool climate a little further inland, the conditions are favourable to offer a variety of elegant, rich and mellow-flavoured wines.

And the wines that Rafael will be bringing from his Undurraga vineyard will be matched with a 4-course menu from Jeremy and his team.  £55 per person all inclusive, 7.30pm for 8pm.  To make your reservation, please call 01444 441102 or book online.

If you can't make a decision as to what to do this August Bank Holiday, we are hosting our Jeremy's BBQ and Beer garden event in association with local Fallen Angel Brewery.  We are still taking bookings for terrace and restaurant service but the undecided can just turn up on the day for 'lunch on the hoof' with a £10 entry per person including a free-range jumbo sausage from Jeremy's BBQ, salad and a beer.  (Vegetarian option available).  From 12 noon, but remember to bring a rug if you want to stay on and listen to the jazz!

And it just leaves us to say a big thank you to all of those who took the time to vote for us in the Sussex Food and Drink Awards.  The voting for the best young chef is now closed until the first week in August while the applications are verified.  Once this is done, voting will re-open and continue until October when there will be a "Master Chef" style cook-off final.  Voting, however, continues for us and Cafe Elvira in the Best Eating Experience, until the end of August.

We hope to see you soon.
