Jeremy's hats off to Jimmy

Hats off to Jimmy Gray - crowned Sussex Young Chef of the Year at a prestigious black-tie awards dinner at the Amex Stadium last week.  The judges recognised the excellent cooking of this modest and gifted young man, who saw off his talented rivals.  Following on the heels of The Good Food Guide regional Readers' Restaurant of The Year Award, it's fair to say that all the team are in high spirits and have a taste for further triumphs.

I am very proud of Jimmy's achievement and really believe we now have a team capable of delivering a Michelin star.  Whilst it has not previously been a major obective of ours, we have seen recently that the nature of the guide has changed; no longer do stars go only to luxurious palaces of gastronomy, but now more relaxed establishments with excellent cooking being justly recognised.  A signal of intent!

The response to our Good Food Guide Regional Readers' Restaurant of the Year special celebratory dinner on Thursday 21st March has been huge and therefore am delighted to announce a second date for Thursday 28th March, just ahead of the Easter weekend.
