Jeremy's taste of spring 2010

At last, the vernal equinox approaches and Persephone, goddess of spring and symbol of the vegetation which shoots forth, brings new ingredients, albeit late this year, to what the ancients celebrated as the restoration of food supplies and what we call exciting new ingredients for the restaurant table.

Get a taste of spring with our April Thursday suppers, starting on Thursday 1st April with our Nordic supper, through to the last one on Thursday 29th April which takes on a slightly warmer, modern Spanish tapas style menu.   £29.50 per person, 4-courses including coffee.  And enjoy the Easter weekend at Jeremy's with family lunches and Bank Holiday jazz on Monday 5th April, featuring Mike Hatchard.

Cafe Elvira is reopening on Mondays from the 22nd March in conjunction with Borde Hill Garden who, which to mark the start of the season, is hosting the Juginder Lamba sculpture exhibition at the House from 8th to 22nd April.   Jeremy's is offering a special preview exhibition supper for preview ticket holders on Wednesday 7th April, 2-courses at £15.50 per person.

Our summer events programme is taking shape with our annual jazz summer bbq on Sunday 27th June, from 12 noon, 2-courses £27.50 per person and on the following weekend, Saturday 3rd July, grab your pith helmets and join the Scientific Exploration Society for supper - a unique oportunity to meet Colonel Blashford-Snell and hear the voice of Henry Morton Stanley - the man who found Dr. Livingstone.  The evening will take the shape of a 3-course supper together with a spirited talk, along with Stanley's original magic lantern slides, by the celebrated explorer about his hero, Henry Moreton Stanley.  £40 per person for the 3-course supper including coffee.  Jeremy's is donating £6 per head to the charity to help fund further global expeditions.  Dress informal, with appropriate headgear if you wish!  Please call  01444 441102  or book online for what promises to be a great evening.

One final note, we have some great spring and summer a la carte offers for lunchtime and mid-week dinner so please click  to download your vouchers from the website.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
Jeremy, Vera and the team.
