They come from far and wide to Jeremy's

Our regulars come from as far afield as Guildford, Chichester, Storrington and Byfleet and many other locations that are hardly next door.

Celebrated ski editor and local resident, Arnie Wilson, who dines at Jeremy's so often his friends ask if it is his local 'staff canteen', met some lovely customers the other day and having chatted to them as they were leaving, felt inspired to share their story of long-distance travel just to get to Jeremy's and so decided to 'pen' the following piece.

Just the other day, David Tomlinson and his wife Jill drove their friend Betty O'Neill here all the way from Wargrave, near Henley on Thames - a 140 mile return journey!  The Tomlinsons (who live in a hamlet called 'Crazies Hill' - 'Crazies' apparently meaning buttercups!) have made this journey a few times, so we certainly consider them to be among our valued 'regular's.

Says Jill; "Betty had been taken out to lunch at Jeremy's by some friends and enjoyed it very much, so, when we took her out to lunch a year ago and asked her where she would suggest for a suitable venue, she immediately said 'Jeremy's'.  As we also enjoyed it very much and subsequently attended her 90th birthday lunch here in February, we had no hesitation in deciding to pay the restaurant another visit.  We think it is an outstanding establishment in every way; it appeas to offer everything one could wish for, obviously good food, great service, lovely locaton and most attractive decor - what more is there?"

We love this story but also equally value our relationship with all our customers.  Including David Metcalfe who, for the third year running, has chosen Jeremy's to host the annual Macmillan Cancer fundraising dinner at Jeremy's on Friday 1st November.  Charles Metcalfe, wine expert of great renown (but of no relation!) is master of ceremonies and it promises to be another great evening of fine food and fundraising.  If you wish to book  -  £40 per head for a 3-course supper including arrival aperitif, charity auction and raffle, 7.30pm for 8pm  - please contact David Metcalfe directly at elsda@btinternet.com.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
