Our November speaker, Mackenzie Paton, grew up in her parents’ vineyards in the village of Martinborough at the southern end of New Zealand’s North Island. In the 1980s Clive and Phyll Paton pioneered vine planting in New Zealand. Their winemaker Helen Masters is 2019 New Zealand Winemaker of the Year (Gourmet Traveller WINE Magazine). Ata Rangi are now perhaps New Zealand’s finest Pinot Noir producers, and their whites are pretty amazing too.
