Welcome to Spring, even if it is in the most capricious mood we can ever remember. Hats off to Jimmy Gray - crowned Sussex Young Chef of the Year at a prestigious black-tie awards dinner at the Amex Stadium last week. The judges recognised the excellent cooking of this modest and gifted young man, who saw off his talented rivals. Following on the heels of The Good Food Guide regional Readers' Restaurant of The Year Award, it's fair to say that all the team are in high spirits and have a taste for further triumphs.
We are back in business (snow notwithstanding) following our annual recharge and looking forward to an upbeat year ahead with excitement growing as head chef, Jimmy Gray, finds out if he has nailed Sussex Young Chef of the Year at the Sussex Food and Drink Awards 2012/13 later this month.
