Blashers outgunned by fireworks display
Summer solstice has been and gone. Vera and I didn't join the 20,000 to see the sun rise, but we have just returned, revived and inspired, from a trip to the "world's best restaurant", Noma in Copenhagen (you can read all about it here). It was truly a magnificent experience, not only to taste some wonderful flavour combinations, but to take comfort that we do some good things here too!
Jeremy and Vera visit Noma in Copenhagen, the world's best restaurant
It is not often that we are honoured with two renowned figures in one night, but on Saturday 3rd July, we welcome world famous explorer Colonel John Blashford-Snell OBE to our camp to host an evening of ancedotes and discovery about his hero Sir Henry Morton Stanley and the finding of Dr Livingstone at our Scientific Exploration Society supper.
What a blessing the recent beautiful spring weather has been. Darling buds everywhere and the first local asparagus and watercress offer a welcome verdant touch to the kitchen palate.
