Join us for a magical mid-summer’s evening on Wednesday 20 June as the northern hemisphere tilts towards the longest day.
Across Europe, from Scandinavia to Portugal to Bulgaria, celebrations will dip into ancient rituals, sometimes wild. British summertime permitting, we’ll drink to the summer (in our own English way) in Jeremy’s walled garden (a cocktail based of the delicious new vermouth from Albourne Vineyard), to the sounds of talented Sussex folk-ish duo Dandelion Charm.
The menu taps into European cuisine, and the wines will be European to match. Flowers in your hair are not obligatory.
£70 per person to include aperitif, four courses paired with wines, and coffee.
Jeremy’s Wine Club, summer sessions
Book now for the few remaining places on Charles Metcalfe’s summer Wine Club sessions at Jeremy’s.
On a series of five summer evenings, Charles will lead you through the wine regions of the ‘New World’ (Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina, South Africa), pairing six tasting wines each evening with a mini-dish from Jeremy’s kitchen, followed by a main dish (and a glass of wine to drink). Charles, who lives locally in Balcombe, is a renowned speaker on wine and an international wine judge.
Jeremy’s Wine Club is an intimate evening affair in the private space of Café Elvira and its garden, just 15 guests in relaxed mode. Wine Club evenings will start with a welcome glass of wine at 7pm. Every evening will be different, and we hope that you will attend at least four of the five evenings: Tuesdays 5, 19, 26 June and 3 and 17 July.
£160 per person for four evenings (£40 per evening). If you can manage all five dates, do apply for the fifth evening (£40) and if we can fit you in, we shall.
