So next Thursday we celebrate our 20th anniversary! That evening we’re offering diners a complimentary and celebratory glass of English fizz on arrival, and a glass of English white wine with the starter. It will be our time-honoured local 2014 Ridgeview Cavendish or 2013 Hattingley Valley Classic Cuvée from Hampshire, followed by 2016 New Hall Vineyard Bacchus from Essex!
We tried to find the original opening menu, in our files and piles and teeming memories. (We managed to find a picture - of our young(ish) selves, with Nick, who worked with us behind the bar for so many years and remains a shareholder.)
But there’ll be no retro menu for our 20th anniversary. Our daily and à la carte menus will be leaping forward into spring 2018 with our own wild garlic, the first of the Wye Valley new asparagus, and new season’s organic lamb from nearby Saddlescombe.
