In the words of Nancy Sinatra's hit song of almost fifty years ago....."Strawberries, cherries and an angel's kiss in spring..... my summer wine is really made from all these things." Nothing much has really changed since then. Once again, it's time to break out the best of those summer wines, and the prospect is as delectable as ever!
And so, in preparation for the next wine dinner at Jeremy's - "the best of the summer wines on Thursday 16th June - our host, Alex Harper of Bancroft Wines, has carefully selected a seasonal wine for each course along with food pairing suggestions which Jeremy and his team will craft into a delicious array of tasting dishes to please the palate and accompany those 'angel's kisses'.
The evening begins with a welcome aperitif - Cederberg Bukettraube - followed by
Potted Dorset crab, accompanied by Picpoul
Confit of organic salmon with radish salad, accompanied by Cabrials rose
A summer vegetable risotto, accompanied by Diluvio Albarino
Grilled lamb, accompanied by Domaine de Mus Grenache
and for dessert, strawberries, figs and balsamic accompanied by Rio Albo Valpol
