It's autumn newsletter time at Jeremy's, which we are now making available online as we celebrate twenty-five years of the restaurant's inclusion in the Good Food Guide. Other good news is that Sussex Life food reviewer Lulu Larkin has voted us in her top 6 favourite Sussex restaurants in the next issue. Thanks for that. Do take the time to view the newsletter.
Diary dates coming up include our autumn Tuesday suppers which kick-off on Tuesday 12th October with south coast fish; our windfall menu which starts on 5th October as well as details of our Christmas programme of events both here at the restaurant and next door at Cafe Elvira.
On Thursday 11th November, we are hosting a Catalonia wine evening when we are joined by class double act winemaker Ana Espelt and Joseph Puig, author, winemaker and owner of Vinedos de Ithaca vineyard in Priorat. Taste the elegant, fresh and celebrated wines from these two individual vineyards from this bountiful region of Spain. £55 per person, 4-courses. 7.30pm for 8pm. Please call 01444 441102 or book online.
As summer fled south, both Vera and I managed to hitch a late ride and enjoyed six tranquil days in Soller and Deia in Mallorca. Special thanks to Cristina and Antonio for impeccable and friendly service at Gran Hotel in Soller last week. The cooking was great too.
Thoughts, however, now turn away from the Mediterranean table to the rich provenance of our own terroir and the most inspiring selection of ingredients for any creative kitchen.
Thank you all for your entries in our recent tasting menu competition. Here are the names of the five lucky winners for our 6-course Tuesday tasting menu (excluding beverages). Nigel Cook, Trevor de Silva, Mark Rouson, Beth Beardshaw and Alex Battison. We look forward to seeing you and pinching a few more ideas!
Very best wishes, Jeremy, Vera and the team
