T.S. Eliot was wide of the mark for this year in asserting that "April is the cruelest month". Holidays, celebrations and sunshine galore brought solace and welcome trade to businesses across the county. Oh ye gods of the great British weather, we are most truly grateful. Mark you, we will surely pay for it later!
In the meantime we have much to wet your whistle and tickle your taste buds for the summer season
The first in our line up of summer events is on Thursday 16th June when we warmly welcome Alex Harper of Bancroft Wines to host our "Best of the summer wines" food and wine pairing evening. The delightful and knowledgeable Alex will take us through her hand-picked selection of summery wines accompanied by a carefully crafted seasonal menu from Jeremy and his team. £55 per person fully inclusive. 7.30pm for 8pm. To make a reservation please either call us on 01444 441102 or book online.
In honour of Father's Day this year, which falls on Sunday 19th June, we are offering each father a complimentary bottle of Gardener's Delight beer from the local Fallen Angel Brewery to accompany their lunch. Sunday lunch £25 for 2 courses and £29.50 for 3 courses. To book, again either please call us or book online.
And finally, join us for lunch or a drink in the bar at our next 'jazz in the afternoon' on Bank Holiday Monday 30th May , featuring Geoff Driscoll and Maurice Cockerill, lunch from 12 noon.
As always, we look forward to seeing you soon.
Jeremy, Vera and the team
