We’ve persuaded local wine guru Charles Metcalfe to run a course of tasting suppers on Tuesdays, exploring the possibilities of matching wines with our food. Jeremy’s Wine Club will be held in the private space of Cafe Elvira  – we’re aiming for a small, friendly group of maybe 15 people.

Charles will host a series of five evenings. Each evening you’ll taste six wines with six matching mini-dishes from Jeremy’s kitchen, and then relax over a main course with a matching glass of wine and convivial chat. Charles will guide you through the wines and how they match the dishes.

We start with a gastronomic journey through the great wine regions of Europe. The idea is that you will sign up for a minimum of four of the five sessions. As the first evening will be an introduction to the whole course, we do urge you to come to this one if you can.

March dates sold outThe dates are Tuesday 6 March, Tuesday 13 March, Tuesday 20 March, Tuesday 27 March and Tuesday 3 April, starting at 7.30pm. Every evening will be different.

New Summer dates: Tuesday 5 June, Tuesday 19 June, Tuesday 26 June and Tuesday 3 July and Tuesday 17 July.

We kindly request advance payment of £160 per person to secure a place on the course. If you can manage all five dates, you are welcome to apply for the fifth (for another £40 per person), and if we can fit you in, we shall.

To secure your place, please email reservations@jeremysrestaurant.com, with ‘Jeremy’s Wine Club’ in the subject line, and we will ring you to confirm your place, and to take payment. Or send a cheque to Jeremy's Restaurant, Borde Hill Garden, Balcombe Road, Haywards Heath, RH16 1XP, mentioning ‘Jeremy’s Wine Club’.

For those of you who do not know Charles, he’s an internationally renowned wine judge and consultant, and President of the Association of Wine Educators, an august body who dedicate their lives to teaching people about wine. Charles does this as well, but with a lightness of touch that means you never realise you’re learning. You’re too busy having a good time.

We (and you) are going to have fun!
